STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Fordham Rams are once again rated among the nation's best in this week's USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll, as the team received votes in Tuesday's poll for the third-straight week. The Rams received four votes in this week's Top 25, doubling their tally from a week ago.
In the March 2 poll, Fordham received their first vote of the season, and first vote in Fordham history.
The Rams are one of 10 teams that lie just outside the top 25.
Fordham is 13-5 overall, after a 3-1 weekend at the Springhill Suites Buckhead Classic hosted by No. 12 Georgia Tech. The Rams defeated then No. 8 Georgia Tech, 2-1, in extra-inning excitement. Fordham also defeated Mercer, 4-0, in ten innings and split with Georgia State.
In addition to the USA Today/NFCA Top 25, Fordham also received three votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 and seven votes in the Ultimate College Softball Poll.
For the fifth time in six weeks, the Washington Huskies received all 30 first-place votes to remain at No. 1. The Huskies have now held the No. 1 spot for six consecutive editions of the poll.
The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference. 2010 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
