West Point, N.Y. - The Fordham women's tennis put forth a valiant effort into posting their first back-to-back wins of the season on Saturday, but Niagara came back to score a 4-3 win over the Rams.

Fordham opened the match by taking the doubles point, as Fordham's Sarah Tremaine and Martina Featherston took down Hilary Hanson and Alyssa Lucas, 8-5, while Bethany Boyle and Taylor Holt topped Raquel Solis and Brittany Walters, 8-4.

In singles play, Featherston and Holt posted wins at second and fourth singles, leaving Fordham one point from a win. Featherston defeated Solis, 6-2, 6-3, while Holt won over Emma Cunnington, 6-4, 7-6 (3).

The match eventually came down to Elizabeth Stall against Walters at fifth singles, as the Purple Eagles tied the match at three with wins at first, third, and sixth singles. Stall took the opening set, 7-5, but Walters rallied to win the match with 6-2, 6-2 scores in the final two sets.

The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action on Wednesday, March 24th, when they play at Fairleigh Dickinson, beginning at 3:00 PM.
