The Fordham University women's tennis squad picked up its first win of the spring with a 6-1 victory over Saint Peter's College in the Yanitelli Center Bubble on Wednesday.
The Rams opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning both of the matches played. Sarah Tremaine and Martina Featherston defeated Kristen Chen and Andrea Collomb, 9-7, at first doubles while Bethany Boyle and Taylor Holt took second doubles for the Rams, defeating Joniesa Williams and Linnea Enoh Jansson, 8-4.
In singles action, the Rams took five of the six singles matches, winning at the second through sixth positions. Featherston was victorious at second singles over William, 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3, while Boyle took third singles from Enoh Jansson, 6-1 and 6-1. Holt won at fourth singles, 6-1 and 6-1, and Stall defeated Jessica Nowogrodzi at the fifth position, 6-0 and 6-2. The Rams also won at sixth singles by default.
The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, March 13th, as they travel to West Point to face Niagara University for a 1:00 p.m. match.
