Bronx, N.Y. - They came. They saw. They measured. They timed. They, being the NFL scouts that showed up on campus on Tuesday for the Fordham Football Pro Day.

While most of the scouts were on hand to see senior quarterback John Skelton, six other Rams participated in the drills: Isiejah Allen, Kelvin Colbert, James Crockett, Asa Lucas, Andrew Tyshovnytsky and Darzell Wright. They were joined by 18 other players from eight other schools such as Columbia, Colgate, Stony Brook, Albany and Hofstra.

Over 15 scouts ran the players through the drills, which started with recording height, weight, hand size and arm length. After the measurements were recorded, the players had a chance to bench press 250 pounds as many times as possible. Tyshovnytsky led all participants, recording 34 presses.

The players then moved into the Lombardi Fieldhouse where they were tested on the vertical and broad jump. After that it was out to Murphy Field for the 40-yard dash where Allen clocked a 4.56, the second fastest time of the day to a 4.53 turned in by Stony Brook's Conte Cuttino.

After the running, it was time for Skelton to take the field. As members of his family looked on, including his uncle E. Javier Loya, a limited partner of the Houston Texans, Skelton threw well over 100 passes to receivers, both short and long, operating as he would if he were under center. Skelton, who didn't participate in any of the other drills since he preformed those at the NFL Combine, threw bullets to Lucas and Fordham teammate Ryan Darcey, Colgate's Pat Simonds and Columbia's Austin Knowlin.

"I think it went well," said Skelton after his workout. "I'm a little tired now as I made a lot of throws. But this is my last chance to show the scouts what I can physically. After this it will be time for interviews with the teams. But it's been exciting getting ready to do something I've been dreaming about since I was in high school."

"This was a great day for Fordham and the football program," said head coach Tom Masella. "I think it shows that if you come to Fordham you'll not only get a great education but you'll play football at the highest level. And I'm so happy for John Skelton, even though as I watched him throw I wish he could come back for another couple of years. He's a great young man who has done things the right way."
