2010 Atlantic 10 Champion Women's Swimming & Diving Squad to be Honored at Men's Basketball Game with St. Bonaventure on Wednesday Night

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University women's swimming and diving team, that captured their first ever Atlantic 10 Championship last weekend, will be honored at halftime of the men's Atlantic 10 basketball game against St. Bonaventure in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night 7:00 p.m.

Prior to the game, senior guard Brenton Butler will be honored for scoring his 1000th career point on February 10th. He currently has 1,068 career points, placing him in 27th place on the Fordham all-time scoring list.

Also prior to the game, the Fordham Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host its annual Carnival to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the Ramskellar from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. There will be $5 all you can eat carnival food, music, and face painting. Also, the winner of a "Rock-Paper-Scissors" contest will win a free trip sponsored by Travel America and will be able to choose from three Luxury Vacation options: 3 day/2 night Las Vegas trip, 5 day/4 night Cancun, Mexico trip, or a 4 night carnival cruise!

Also being honored at the game will be football's Kelvin Colbert, who led the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in passes defended last fall. He will be joined by head coach Tom Masella as the Rams are recognized as the 2009 NCAA FCS leader in total offense.

The game will be broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and online at www.wfuv.org. The game will also be streamed live on the internet by clicking here and live stats are available via GameTracker.

Fordham will be led into the game by freshman forward Chris Gaston, who leads the team and all Atlantic 10 freshmen in scoring with a 18.0 ppg average and in rebounding, averaging 11.0 rpg. He is ranked second in the conference in rebounding and fourth in scoring while in the national rankings he is eight in rebounding. Gaston also has 16 double-doubles on the season, the second most for an Atlantic 10 player this year and tied for eighth in the NCAA, tied with Kentucky's DeMarcus Cousins for the most for an NCAA freshman this season.
