After dropping a 73-57 decision to American in the first round of the 2010 Cable Car Classic on Wednesday night, the Fordham men's basketball squad will face the host school, Santa Clara University tonight in the consolation game at 9:00 p.m. (EST) at Santa Clara University's Leavey Center. The Rams enter the game with a 6-5 overall record following last night's loss which broke a four-game Fordham winning streak. Santa Clara enters the game with a 7-7 record after losing 54-53 to Delaware last night.

The game will be the third meeting between Fordham and Santa Clara on the hardwood. The two schools split the first two meetings with the Rams winning 73-64 at the 1979 Volunteer Classic in Knoxville, Tenn., and the Broncos taking the most recent matchup, 59-49, in Santa Clara in 1983. The Rams are 3-6 all-time against teams from the West Coast Conference. The last game the Rams played against a WCC opponent was a 78-66 over St. Mary's on December 18, 1997 in the first round of the Seton Hall Holiday Tournament at the Meadowlands.
