Fordham University freshman guard Branden Frazier (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) was named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week it was announced by the conference office today. He earns his first career conference weekly award, which he shares with Juwan Staten from Dayton, and the second weekly award this year for a Fordham player (Brenton Butler was named Player of the Week on December 13th).
Frazier led the Rams to a win in their only game of the week, an 80-63 victory over Kennesaw State on December 23rd, Fordham's fourth straight win. In that game, Frazier scored 18 points, making seven of his eight field goal attempts, and he added four rebounds and four assists while hitting both of his shots from behind the arc and both of his free throws.
On the year, Frazier is averaging 12.3 ppg, fourth best on the team, along with 3.3 rpg. He is second on the squad with 37 assists (3.7 per game) and ten steals.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday night, December 29th as they open play at the 2010 Cable Car Classic at Santa Clara University against American University at 11:00 PM EST. The other game on the first night will feature the host school, Santa Clara, and the University of Delaware.
