Rowing Wins Eighth Straight Fall Metropolitan Championship

Bronx, N.Y. - There's two ways to know that the fall days are winding down. The leaves start to turn and fall from the trees and the Fordham women's crew wins the Fall Metropolitan Championship. For the eighth straight season, the Rams won the Grimaldi Cup at the championship held in the Orchard Beach Lagoon.

Out of a total of ten women's races, the Rams crossed the line first six times in dominating the competition. Among the other school competing this year were Army, Manhattan, Iona, C.W. Post, Stony Brook, Sacred Heart, Sarah Lawrence, Hofstra, Fairfield and NY Maritime.

The Rams easily won the varsity 8 as well as taking first and third in the second varsity 8 race.

Other winners for Fordham came in the varsity 4, the third varsity 4, the novice 4 and the second novice 4.

The Rams also placed second in the novice 8 to Army.
