Two Rams Named to CWPA All-North Teams

Nov. 23, 2010

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced the 2010 Men's All-North and All-South Division Teams this past weekend as part of the 2010 Eastern Championship Hall of Fame Banquet in Lewisburg, Pa. For the third consecutive year, Fordham had at least two players earn All-North honors, as Ali Arat (Istanbul, Turkey/Sisli Terakki Secondary) was named First Team All-North, while Ryan Hultman (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona del Mar) was named to the All-North Second Team.

Arat received First Team All-North honors for the second straight season, and was among not only the Rams' top scorers all season long, but challenged for the NCAA goal scoring title. In 32 games this season, he tallied a team-high 91 goals and 11 assists for a team-best 102 points, while adding 40 steals, good for second on the team, and 14 blocks. The 91 goals ranks as one of the top scoring season in Fordham school history, trailing only Ned Kelly's mark of 112 in 1971.

Ryan Hultman

Nationally, Arat was second in the nation in goals and third in points. He also earned CWPA Northern Division Offensive Player of the Week once this season.

Hultman, who was Second Team All-North last year as well, had another solid campaign, eclipsing the 30-goal plateau for the fourth straight season. He netted 32 goals, good for third on the team, to go with 18 assists for 50 points. It was the second time that Hultman has reached the 50-point plateau in his career. He also posted a career-high 42 steals, which tied for 11th nationally. He also earned CWPA Northern Division Offensive Player of the Week once this season.
