Newport News, Va. - For the second straight week, Fordham University freshman swimmer Shintaro Noguchi (Tiburon, Calif./Redwood) was named Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the league office.

Noguchi was Fordham's top rookie scorer at the Frank Elm Invitational this weekend, competing in eight events in the Rams' fifth-place finish. He booked a time of 51.09 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly, claiming second place out of 35 swimmers, and was 10th in the 100 freestyle in 47.51 seconds.

He also had a strong performance as a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team (5th - 1:25.16) and 400-yard freestyle relay team (3rd - 3:10.43).

Noguchi and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving teams will next be in action on Saturday, December 4th, when they compete in a tri-meet against Boston College and Williams College at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
