Day One Results
Clifton, N.J. - The Fordham golf team opened play in its final tournament of the fall season at FDU Invitational on Monday. Through day one of competition, the Rams sit in fifth place out of seven teams, while individually sophomore Jason Del Rosso is in first place after a round of 77.
In the team competition, Robert Morris leads the tournament with an opening round of 316, followed by Wagner (324), Monmouth (325), Fairleigh Dickinson (327), Fordham (328), St. Francis (NY) (337), and Hofstra (344).
Individually, Del Rosso's round of 77 leads by one stroke over Robert Morris' Brandon Pompeani and Max Cahn, who both shot a 78 on day one, while fellow teammate Brock Pompeani and Wagner's Eric Mathias each shot a 79 and are two strokes back.
Besides Del Rosso, Brody Nieporte shot an 81 for the Rams, with Devon O'Rourke chipping in with an 82. Connor Monahan (88) and Ryan Donahue (90) rounded out the Rams' competitors.
Play at the FDU Invitational will conclude on Tuesday.
