The Fordham golf team made its way up to New Haven, Connecticut, this weekend for the MacDonald Cup, hosted by Yale University. The two-day tournament saw Fordham place 10th out of 14 teams.
Overall, St. John's won the team title with a score of 565, good for five-over-par (+5), followed by Yale (580), Binghamton (582), and Central Connecticut (584). Fordham shot a two-day total of 600 (298-302).
Individually, Central Connecticut's Kevin Josephson won medalist honor at four-under par (-4) after rounds of 67 and 69 for a total of 136.
Fordham's Jason Del Rosso was the Rams' top finisher in a tie for 27th overall at nine-over-par (+9) after a two-day total of 149 (71-78). Brody Nieporte was one shot behind Del Rosso in a tie for 34th at plus-10 (+10 = 76-74-150), with Devon O'Rourke (76-75-151) and Connor Monahan (75-76-151) tying for 41st overall. Ryan Donahue (82-77) and Charles Smith (80-79) rounded out the Fordham competitors, as they both tied for 64th at 159.
The Fordham golf team will next be in action at the Big 5 Classic on October 9th-10th at the Plymouth Country Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
