Fordham University sophomore swimmer Brienne Ryan (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) earned her first weekly award of the season today, as she was named Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming Co-Performer of the Week, for the week ending October 24th.
In her opening two meets of the season, Ryan won all seven events she competed in, leading the Rams to a 150-93 win over Marist and a second place finish at the Husky Invitational.
Against Marist, Ryan won the 50 freestyle (24.13) and 200 backstroke (2:03.92), while being a part of the winning 400 medley relay in a time of 3:56.12.
Then at the Husky Invitational, Ryan was a three-time individual event winner in the 50 freestyle (24.38), 100 backstroke (56.40), and 200 backstroke (2:04.14), and later helped the 200 freestyle relay win its race in 1:39.39.
Ryan and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving teams will next be in action on Saturday, November 13th, when they host Boston University, beginning at 1:00 PM in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
