Mia Fiocca Advances to Quarterfinals at the ITA Eastern Regionals

Hanover, N.H. - Mia Fiocca opened play today at the IRA Eastern Championships being held at Dartmouth College with a pair of wins to advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Fiocca opened play with against Sarah Viebrock from Quinnipiac, winning the first set, 7-6 (5) and the second, 7-5, to advance to the round of 32.

In the round of 32, Della Taylor of Army provided the competition for Fiocca who was able to win in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-1, to move on to the quarterfinals where she will face Army's Jamila Paul on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Angelika Dabu will face Leonie Athanasiadis from Boston University in singles play at 3:45 p.m. and Fiocca and Dabu will team up for doubles play at 11:45 a.m. facing Lauren Bates and Emma Leibowitz from Binghamton in the round of 64 doubles play.
