Fordham's Julian Nagel Named Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week

Newport News, Va. - Fordham University freshman foward Julian Nagel (Kiel, Germany/Kiel) was named Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference. This is Nagel's first career Atlantic 10 weekly honor, and the second time a Ram has received Rookie of the Week honors this year. Fordham's Doug Hanly received the honor back on September 20th.

Nagel played a big part in a 2-0 week on coference play for the Fordham men's soccer team, posting a pair of assists on key goals. On Friday, Nagel assisted on Sam Jolly's game-winning goal over Duquesne at Jack Coffey Field. Then on Sunday, he assisted on the game-tying goal by John McHugh late in the second half against St. Bonaventure. The goal would force overtime between the two schools, in which Fordham got the game-winning tally for a 2-1 win.

This season, Nagel is tied for the team lead in assists with three, and is fourth in overall scoring with a goal and three assists for five points.

Nagel and the rest of the Rams (7-5-0, 2-1-0 Atlantic 10) will next be in action on Friday, October 22th, as they play at Atlantic 10 opponent, George Washington, beginning at 3:00 PM.
