Golf Finishes in a Tie for 13th at Lincoln Mercury Invitational

Bedminster, N.J. - With the winds having died down from the previous day, the Fordham University golf squad completed play today in the Lincoln Mercury Invitational at the Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in much calmer weather conditions as the Rams placed in a tie for 13th overall of 18 teams. Jason Del Rosso and Brody Nieporte were the top Fordham finishers, tying for 24th overall.

Binghamton won the team title with a score of 587 followed by Temple (592), Villanova (599), Seton Hall (603) and Delaware (604). The Rams tied with Long Island for 13th with a score of 624, one stroke behind Lehigh and two behind Rutgers.

Delaware's Justin Martinson won the individual crown, shooting a course-record 64 today to bring his total to 141, two strokes in front of Binghamton's Jake Katz and Temple's Andrew Mason.

Del Rosso rebounded from an 82 in the wind on day one to shoot a two-under par 70 today for a 152 total, tying him for 24th with his teammate, Neiporte, who shoot a two-over 74 today after carding a 78 on Saturday.

Also scoring for Fordham were Connor Monaghan, who shot an 78 on day one and a 79 today to tie for 59th with a 159 total, Devon O'Rourke, who finished with a 161 (80-81) to tie for 69th, and Pat Herlihy, who tied for 83rd with a 166 (85-81).

The Rams will next be in action on Monday, November 1st, as they open play at the FDU Invitational at the Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, N.J.
