Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham's Dan Kane-West defeated NJIT's Henrique Moreno at fifth singles on Wednesday, but it was the lone win for the Rams, as the men's tennis team fell to the NJIT Highlanders, 6-1, at the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts.

The match opened with doubles play, as NJIT swept all three matches to earn the doubles point. The closest match came at third double, where Fraser Croad and Henrique Moreno defeated Fordham's Ken Fukumoto and Kevin Maloney, 8-6.

In singles play, Kane-West was the lone winner, coming back from a set down to win his fifth singles match against Moreno. Kane-West lost the first set, 2-6, but rallied to win the second set, 6-2 and the super tie-breaker, 10-5, to defeat Moreno.

Fukumoto also put together a strong match against Dan Saloman at third singles, but fell, in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-4.

The Fordham men's tennis team will next be in action on October 16-17 at the Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
