St. Francis' Stefan Gencic scored three times, while goalie Igor Milanenovic made 10 saves, as the 15th-ranked Terriers topped the Fordham Rams, 14-5, on Wednesday night in Brooklyn.
With the win, the Terriers improve to 15-3 on the year, 4-0 in the Northern Division, while Fordham falls to 11-13 overall, 3-3 in the league.
The Rams kept the game tight in the first half, trailing 6-4, with 3:18 remaining. The Terriers however scored twice before the half was over to lead, 8-4. St. Francis then outscored Fordham 6-1 in the second half.
For Fordham, Ali Arat led the charge with three goals, while Andrew McKernin had the other two. Alex Powell also had a pair of assists on the offensive end to go with three steals, defensively. In net, Christian Flessner made a total of five stops.
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Sunday, October 24th, when the team hosts a pair of contests at the Messmore Aquatic Center. The Rams will play Mercyhurst at 10:30 AM and then Gannon at 3:00 PM.
