The Fordham water polo team wrapped up play at the Claremont Convergence Tournament on Saturday with a split of matches. Fordham lost the opening contest of the day to Air Force, while defeating La Verne, 11-8.
In the first contest, Air Force defeated Fordham by a score of 12-6.
Fordham's Ryan Hultman led the way with two goals and three steals, while Ben Clinkinbeard, Daniel Muñoz, Martin de Jong, and Victor Bautista Medina each had one. Defensively, Ali Arat had four steals with Christian Flessner having eight saves in net for the Rams.
In match two, the Rams closed out tournament play with an 11-8 win over La Verne. Fordham controlled play from the start, leading 6-2 at the half.
Arat was the Rams' leading scorer with five goals, while Mikey Edwards and Muñoz each had two. Andrew McKernin and Robert Fleming also had one goal apiece.
In net, Flessner allowed three goals and made eight saves over three quarters of play, while Eric Mullery played the final quarter in net.
The Fordham water polo team will return to action on Wednesday, October 13th, when they play at St. Francis College, beginning at 8:00 PM.
