Newport News, Va. - Newport News, Va. - Fordham University freshman swimmer Brienne Ryan (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) earned her fifth weekly award of the season today, as she was named Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week, for the week ending January 24.

Ryan earned her fourth Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week citation after winning three events in the Rams' win over La Salle on Saturday, Jan. 23. Ryan swam to a first-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle (25.01), 100-meter backstroke (56.26) and 200-meter backstroke (2:08.28). She also contributed to to the 200 medley relay's win which clocked in at 1:47.36.

On Friday, Jan. 22, the freshman took home her first of four individual event wins as she finished first in the 200-meter freestyle against C.W. Post finishing in 1:54.52. Ryan was also part of the Rams' 400 medley relay "B" team, which took second in 4:06.14.

Ryan and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving teams will next be in action on January 22nd, when the women's team hosts C.W. Post at 6:00 PM.

The women's swimming and diving team continues to go undefeated with Ryan helping them to a 10-0 record after this weekend's 191-108 win over LaSalle and 139-59 victory over C.W. Post.
