Bronx, N.Y. -
Facing two of the top water polo teams in the northeast, the Fordham Rams gave a great effort, but came up short, falling to Brown, 11-9, and 18th-ranked St. Francis (NY) College, 14-10, at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center on Sunday.

In a highly competitive match, the Rams trailed by two heading into the fourth period, 9-7. Mikey Edwards scored early in the period to cut it to one, followed by an Ali Arat goal to tie the game at nine. Brown's Gordon Hood then broke the tie with a goal with 2:19 remaining. Marcus Gartner then scored with 44 seconds left to extend the Bears' lead to two and give them an 11-9 win.

In Fordham's second match, St. Francis got five goals from Marko Gencic, as the #18 Terriers topped the Rams, 14-10.
With Fordham trailing 11-4, the Rams tried to mount a comeback, netting four straight goals to make it an 11-8 game, two of which came from Edwards. Unfortunately, the comeback was halted, as the Terriers netted three of the next five goals to win by a 14-10 margin.
