The Fordham volleyball team (8-7, 0-0) have their Atlantic 10 opener on Friday evening as they meet the Duquesne Dukes (9-5, 0-0) at the Rose Hill Gym. Duquesne has won the last three meetings in the series with the last Fordham home win coming in 2004.

Saturday, September 26th

Volleyball vs. Saint Louis - 2:00 PM

The Fordham volleyball team wraps up their opening weekend in Atlantic 10 play against 23rd-ranked Saint Louis University. Saint Louis is the defending Atlantic 10 champion and entered the weekend with a 7-5 overall record. Their first conference game was also on Friday at Rhode Island.

Since Saint Louis joined the Atlantic 10 in 2005, the Rams have played the Billikens tough with four of the five matches going at least four sets, including two five-set affairs. Unfortunately, however, Saint Louis has come out on top in all five matches. Last year's contest was the best yet, as Fordham was up two sets to one with a match point in set four, but the Billikens rallied back to win the match in five sets.

Men's Soccer vs. Central Connecticut University - 4:00 PM The Fordham men's soccer team has finally started to put things together with 1-0 wins over Marist and Manhattan in their last two matches. They look to continue the winning way against Central Connecticut State who, after winning their first three games of the season, have dropped two straight.

Freshman Veer-Lakhan Joseph has put his first two collegiate starts to good use, scoring the game-winner in each of those games to give the Rams' their first two wins of the year.

Water Polo vs. Connecticut College - 8:00 PM Fresh off a sixth place finish at the ECAC Championship, the Rams will have the 2009 home opener on Saturday at 8:00 PM in the Messmore Aquatic Center against Connecticut College. It will be the CWPA Northern Division opener for both schools this season.

The two teams have already met once this season, which came just last week in the opening game of the ECAC Championship, as Fordham downed Connecticut College, 17-4, led by Mikey Edwards' seven goals.

Sunday, September 26th Softball Double Header - vs. Fairleigh Dickinson - 10:00 AM & vs. CW Post - 12:00 PM The Fordham softball team looks to keep their fall season at perfection with games against Fairleigh Dickinson and CW Post. The Rams have enjoyed perfection thus far, posting wins against Marist and Manhattan in the first weekend of play while defeating Cornell and Binghamton last weekend.

JV Football vs. Wagner College - 1:00 PM If you are over at Murphy Field for the softball games you will be able to catch JV football action as they host the Wagner College JV squad at 1:00 PM. In their only game this season, Fordham's JV team fell to the hands of Columbia, 14-12.

Women's Soccer vs. Charlotte - 1:00 PM Looking for a fresh start in conference play, the Fordham women's soccer team will have their second Atlantic 10 conference game at home against the Charlotte 49ers at 1:00 PM on Jack Coffey Field, following their Friday night affair at Richmond.

Fordham is 1-3-1 against Charlotte in five all-time meetings. The two teams have only played at Fordham once, a 3-2 Charlotte win in 2006. Fordham later avenged that loss, defeating the 49ers in the 2006 Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals by a 2-1 score.

Water Polo vs. Brown - 12:00 PM Water Polo vs. #18 St. Francis (NY) - 5:00 PM Following Saturday night's match against Connecticut College, Fordham has a pair of Sunday afternoon home affairs against Brown University and 18th-ranked St. Francis (NY) College.

Brown, the defending Northern Division champion, enters the weekend after a close 6-5 conference win over MIT on Thursday, while for the third straight time, St. Francis comes to Rose Hill with a national ranking, posting a 6-2 record thus far in 2009.
