June 10, 2009

ECAC Division I All-Star Teams

Centerville, Mass. - Fordham University first baseman Bobby DiNardo (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) has been named to the ECAC Baseball Division I All-Star Second Team today.

This is the second postseason award for DiNardo after landing on the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team in May. He joins Rhode Island's Dan Rhault and Temple's Sean Barksdale as the three Atlantic 10 representatives on the ECAC All-Star Teams.

Throughout the season, DiNardo not only paced the Rams' offense, but ranked among the top power threats in the Atlantic 10 as he finished tied for third in home runs (15) and had the fifth-best slugging percentage (.640) in the conference. The slugger was also first on the team in RBI (49) and walks (38) while ranking second in doubles (13) and runs scored (44).

Throughout his stellar career, DiNardo has solidified his name in the Fordham record book as one of the top sluggers in Rams' history. His 15 homers rank third all-time on the single-season list while his 28 career dingers are good for fourth place. His ability to hit the long ball also helped him garner tenth place in career RBI (130) while his 39 career doubles are good for eighth place all-time.
