The Fordham University women's tennis team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory at Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.
With the win, Fordham is now 4-8 on the season.
Fordham opened the match by sweeping the doubles' matches. Fordham's Dominique Liguori and Martina Featherston won at first doubles over Jennifer Kedzierski and Maggie Mullaney, 8-4, followed by an 8-2 second doubles win by Bethany Boyle and Sarah Tremaine over Sally Kalani Strainier and Melissa Glick. Kathryn Silva and Elizabeth Stall then completed the sweep with an 8-2 win at third doubles.
In singles play, Liguori continued her dominant play with a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles over Kedzierski, while Boyle defeated Glick, 6-2 and 6-1 at fourth singles. Silva then posted a 6-2, 6-1, win over Erin Malafronte with Elizabeth Stall taking her sixth singles match, 6-0 and 6-1, over Courtney Scardellette.
The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action on Tuesday, April 7th as they host St. John's University at 3:30 PM.
