Rowing's Sarah Lang Named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 & Team MVP

April 28, 2009

Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham University graduate student Sarah Lang (New Bedford, Mass./Tabor Academy) was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in women's rowing, in voting among the Conference's head coaches following the 2009 Atlantic 10 Women's Rowing Championship. This is the second ever All-Conference rowing honor for a Fordham student-athlete, joining Greta Fleischner who was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 last spring.

As a member of the varsity eight, Lang helped lead the shell to a sixth-place finish at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship. The varsity 8 also won the 2008 Fall and the 2009 Spring Metropolitan Intercollegiate Rowing Association's Championship as well as placing fourth at the Jesuit Cup and fifth at the Murphy Cup.

As a member of the varsity 8 last spring, Lang won a gold medal at the 2008 Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championship and took eighth at the 2008 Dad Vail Championships.

A few days later, Lang added to her accolades as she was named team MVP at the annual Block F Awards Dinner on April 30th.

The Fordham crew will next be in action on Saturday, May 3rd, as they compete in the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Championships at Occoquan Reservoir in Virginia.
