The Fordham golf team continued their spring action on Friday at the URI Northeast Invitational, held at the Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Through day one, the Rams finished ninth out of ten teams.
Fordham finished with a team score of 658, two strokes back of Holy Cross for eighth. Sacred Heart University won the team title with a score of 590.
Pat Fillian of Sacred Heart won top individual honor, shooting rounds of 68 and 73 for a two-day total of 141.
For Fordham, freshman Charles Smith was the top performer, as he was 31st overall with a rounds of 80 and 80 for a two-round total of 160, followed by Devon O'Rourke, who tied for 32nd with an 82-79-161 score. Nico Mizono was 48th overall with an 87-80-167, while Nik Andresen (88-82-170) and Zach Murray (89-83-172) were 49th and 51st overall, respectively.
The Fordham golf team will next be in action on April 20-21, as they compete at the Mt. St. Mary's Spring Invitational, held at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.
