Despite a constant rain, the Peacock Invitational was able to be played at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course with the Fordham golf team taking 11th out of 15 teams.
Fordham finished with a team score of 334, just a stroke back of Fairleigh Dickinson for 10th. Army, Iona and Central Connecticut finished tied for the team title at 316, but Iona was declared the winner by taking the lowest score of the golfer whose score did not count in the team score.
Nick LaBanca of Manhattan and Matt Krembel of Army each shot a 74 to tie for the top individual spot. Krembel was declared the winner by taking the lower of the two scores on the ninth hole.
For Fordham, Nico Mizono was the top performer, tying for 14th with a round of 80, followed by Devon O'Rourke and Charles Smith, who both tied for 40th with a round of 84. Nik Andresen tied for 49th with a round of 86, with Zach Murray rounding out the Fordham golfers, tying for 51st with an 87.
The Fordham golf team will next be in action on Friday, April 17th, as they compete at the URI Northeast Invitational, held at Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
