Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University head men's basketball coach Dereck Whittenburg announced today that freshman guard Trey Blue has been granted a release from his scholarship and will transfer to another school.

"Trey had some personal issues during the season that took a lot out of him," said Whittenburg. "At the end of the season we decided that it's in his best interest to transfer. We wish him the best of luck in the future."

Blue appeared in 19 games this winter for the Rams, missing the last eight games due to personal issues, averaging 8.2 ppg and 2.0 rpg. He connected on 32 three-pointers, third best on the team, and handed out 25 assists.
