Matt DiBuono and Jeana Fletcher Earn All-East Honors

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University senior thrower Matt DiBuono and senior pentathlete Jeana Fletcher received All-East honors as a result of their performances at the ECAC/IC4A Championship held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston last weekend. Also earning All-East honors was the distance medley relay of Clifton Hilario, Brandon Ryan, Brian Schmidt and Tom Finnerty.

DiBuono wrapped up his indoor season by placing third in the weight throw at the IC4A Championship with a school record toss of 63' 7.5". The throw surpassed his own school mark of 61' 10.25" set at the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Fletcher showed her versatility by taking sixth in the pentathlon at the ECAC Championship, scoring 3,369 points in the event. She finished third in the shot put (36' 5.5"), sixth in the high jump (5' 2.25") and the 800m (2:29.36), seventh in the 60m hurdles (9.47) and the long jump (16' 2.25").

The men's distance medley relay took fifth in the finals in a season-best time of 9:54.84.

The men's 4x800 relay of Brian Horowitz, Tim Hutchinson, Kevin Fitzgerald and Ryan Serkes finished ninth in the finals in 7:42.41, just missing All-East honors.

The Rams will open their 2009 outdoor schedule on Saturday, March 28th as they compete at the Raleigh Relays.
