Men's Basketball Hosts Richmond Tonight at 7:00 PM

The Fordham University men's basketball squad will continue their 2009 Atlantic 10 season tonight when they play host to the University of Richmond Spiders in the Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m.

The game will be broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and online at www.wfuv.org Live. The game can also be viewed live on the internet by clicking here and live stats are available via Gametracker Live.

At halftime, the Fordham University men's and women's swimming and diving teams, as well as members of the men's and women's indoor track and field squad, will be honored for their exploits at the just completed Atlantic 10 swimming and track championships.

The Rams enter the game with a 3-21 overall record, 1-11 in the Atlantic 10 and are coming off a 77-57 loss to Rhode Island in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday. Richmond enters the game with a 14-13 overall record, 6-6 in the conference, and is coming off a 65-58 home conference win over Charlotte on Saturday.

Fordham will be led into the game by freshman guard Jio Fontan, who leads the team in scoring with a 15.2 ppg average and in assists with 117. He is averaging 17.2 ppg over the past 13 games. Sophomore guard Mike Moore, who is coming off a career-high 28-point game against Rhode Island, is second on the team in scoring (12.6 ppg) and rebounding (4.5 rpg).

Richmond will be led into the game by David Gonzalvez, who is averaging 16.0 ppg and shooting 48.8% (160-238) from the field, while Kevin Anderson is averaging 15.5 ppg.

Wednesday night's contest will be the 14th meeting between Fordham and Richmond on the hardwood with the Rams leading the all-time series, which started in the 1984-85 season, 7-6. Richmond won last year's meeting, 58-53, in Richmond as Dan Geriot and Kevin Anderson each scored 14 points.
