Women's Basketball To Honor Seniors At Final Home Game Tonight

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham Rams will be saying farewell to four seniors at tonight's home game against the Richmond Spiders as tonight's contest marks the final home game of the 2008-09 season. Tip off is slated for 7:00 PM. You can follow the game by clicking on the Watch, or Game Tracker links.

There will be a special ceremony prior to tip-off to honor the four seniors for their hard work and dedication to the Fordham women's basketball team.

THE SENIORS

Carissa Morrill comes from Manhattan, Kansas who transferred to Fordham after spending two years at Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas. Her 2007-08 season was cut short before it even started due to injury, but she came back this season with great heart and dedication on and off the court. Her best game this year came when she led the team with three blocks and five rebounds in 10 minutes of play at Dayton. She will be graduating this May with a major in General Science.

Kassie Humphries is a Rend Lake College transfer who came to the Rams last year. This Frankton, Indiana native has compiled 168 points, 113 rebounds, 35 assists and 27 blocks in 39 games, 27 of those in the starting lineup. Her best game in a Rams uniform came last year when she led the team in scoring with 21 points and two blocks against La Salle. She will graduate this May with a major in Communications and Media Studies.

Takita Earl is an Elkhart, Indiana native that wraps up a two-year stint at Fordham after transferring from Rend Lake College. During her time with the Rams, she has made her presence known underneath the basket, making 49 starts in 56 games played while grabbing 312 career rebounds and scoring 200 points. Her best offensive games as a Ram came this year with a 10-point contribution against Iona on 5-7 shooting from the field while she grabbed a team high 13 rebounds in a 55-53 win against Wofford. She will graduate in May with a major in Psychology.

Annie Zopf has been a mainstay in the Fordham lineup for her entire four-year career. She has started in 90 of 110 career games while averaging over 1,000 minutes a year for the past three years. The Wexford, Pa. native has amassed 803 points, 287 rebounds, 213 assists and 72 steals with a 75.4 shooting percentage from the free-throw line. Her 104 career three-pointers currently ranks eighth on the all-time list. Her best game as a Ram came on January 12, 2008 when she knocked down 20 points while dishing out a game high seven assists. She will graduate this May with a major in Communications and Media Studies and a minor in Business and was one of the 249 students honored this year at the Fordham "Breakfast of Champions" that was held for student athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Tonight's Game: Fordham will play their final regular season home game of the 2008-09 season at the Rose Hill Gym against the Richmond Spiders. Richmond has a strong hold in the all-time series, winning seven of the eight contests between the two schools. The one and only Fordham victory over the Spiders came on January 2, 2002 when the Rams won convincingly over Richmond at the Rose Hilly Gym, 75-50.

The Opponent: Richmond currently sits in a sixth place tie with Duquesne in the Atlantic 10 with a 19-8 overall record, standing 7-5 in the conference. In their last game, the Spiders were dealt a tough 65-52 loss to Temple. All was not lost in the night as senior Johanna McKnight scored her 1,000th career point.

Brittani Shells tops the strong Richmond offense that averages 62.4 points per game. Her 15.3 scoring average is best on the team followed by McKnight's 10.2 points per game.
