Jersey City, N.J. - The Fordham women's tennis team picked up their first win of the spring season on Saturday with a 6-1 victory at St. Peter's College. With the win, Fordham is now 3-5 on the season.

Fordham opened the match by taking the double point, winning two of three matches. Fordham's Dominique Liguori and Martina Featherston paired up for a first doubles victory over Vanessa Pangikas and Krysten Chen by a score of 8-2, while Sarah Tremaine and Bethany Boyle topped Mariela Atanasova and Laurie Souksavath at second doubles, 8-6.

In singles play, Fordham won five of six matches, led by Liguori, who picked up her 11th straight singles' win this season, as she defeated Pangikas at first singles, 6-3, 6-0. Featherston followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles over Chen, while Tremaine defeated Meredith Early, 6-4, 6-3, at third singles.

Bethany Boyle (6-3, 2-6, 10-8) and Jane Carroll (2-6, 6-4, 10-8) wrapped up the win with victories at fourth and fifth singles respectively.
