Newport News, Va. - Fordham University freshman runner Sean Atkinson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) earned his first career weekly award today, as he was named Atlantic 10 Indoor Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week, for the week ending December 6th.

Atkinson won the 400 meter dash at the Fordham Season Opener this past Friday in 50.7 seconds. Later in the meet, he helped the men's 4x400m relay place second overall in a time of 3:31.4.

Atkinson and the rest of the Fordham track & field teams will next be in action on Friday, December 11th, when they host the Christmas Classic, beginning at 3:00 PM in the Lombardi Center Fieldhouse.
