Newport News, Va. - Fordham University freshman swimmer Brienne Ryan (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) earned her fourth weekly award of the season today, as she was named Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week, for the week ending December 6th.

Ryan earned her third Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week citation after setting a school record in the 100-yard backstroke with an NCAA "B" cut time of 55.51 seconds versus Boston College and Williams on December 5th. She added a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.96), while recording a time of 2:03.53 in the 200-yard backstroke. She also helped the 200-yard medley relay capture gold in a season-best time of 1:45.50.

Ryan and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving teams will next be in action on January 22nd, when the women's team hosts C.W. Post at 6:00 PM.
