Newport News, Va. - Fordham University senior Ryan Coombs (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) and freshman Thomas Yi (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kalani) were named Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming Performer & Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the week ending November 29th. This is Coombs' second straight weekly award, while being the first for Yi.

Coombs won two individual events in Fordham's 155-145 loss to Columbia on November 23rd. He claimed the top spot in the 50-yard butterfly (23.27) and 100-yard butterfly (51.20), with his time in the 100 butterfly being a season-best time. He was also a part of the winning 200-yard freestyle (1:25.40) and 200-yard medley (1:35.67 - season-best) relays.

Yi placed in the top five of three individual events against Columbia. He placed second in the 100-yard individual medley in 55.54 seconds, third in the 100-yard butterfly (53.63), and fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (24.60)

Coombs, Yi, and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving teams will next be in action on Saturday, December 5th, when they host a tri-meet with Boston College and Williams College, beginning at 1:00 PM in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
