The Fordham University golf squad opened play today at the ECAC Championships being contested at the Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in Egg Harbor, N.J. The Rams sit in second place of nine teams after day one of the championships with four golfers among the top eleven in the tournament.
Fairleigh Dickinson leads the team competition with a first day score of 309, two strokes ahead of Fordham. Monmouth is in third (313), followed by Brown (315), Fairfield (316), Colgate (320), Saint Peter's (323), Wagner (342) and Hofstra (355).
Individually, FDU's Rob Cerabone leads the pack with a first round score of 72. Fordham's Devon O'Rourke is five strokes back in sixth place with a 77 while Jason Del Rosso, Brody Nieporte and David Newman each carded a 78 on the first day to tie for seventh overall.
The Rams will close out play at the ECAC Championships on Saturday, October 10th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
