Lawrenceville, N.J. - The Fordham University men's tennis team recorded its third straight win of the fall season on Tuesday, upending Rider University, 5-2, on the road. With the win, the Rams even their record at 3-3 on the year.

The Rams opened the match losing the doubles point, dropping two of the three doubles matches to the Broncos. Brandon Abbatiello and Alex DeRienzo won at second doubles for the Rams over Greg Anastasio and Ryan Carpenter, 9-7, but Will Haight and Marc Ashed defeated Dallas Harting and Austin Shoup at first doubles, 8-4, while Nick Kelly and Eli Plangger fell at third doubles to Mil Milosovici and Aaron Greene, 8-6.

Fordham won the match by taking five of the six singles matches, winning at second through sixth singles, each in straightsets. Abbatiello won at second singles over Carpenter, 7-5 and 6-2, while Kevin Maloney took third singles from Ashed, 6-0 and 6-2. At fourth singles, Shoup took care of Rider's Chris Esposito, 6-2 and 6-0, while at fifth singles DeRienzo upended Robert Olson, 6-2 and 6-4. John Thornhill closed out the singles competition by winning at the sixth position over Drew Laverty, 6-3 and 6-1.

The Rams will next be in action on Thursday, October 8th as they travel to Bronxville to face Concordia College at 3:00 p.m.
