Golf Tied for 13th at Yale's MacDonald Cup

Day One Results

New Haven, Conn. - Off an impressive performance last weekend, the Fordham golf team is back in action at Yale's MacDonald Cup in New Haven, Connecticut. Through day one, Fordham is tied for 13th out of 15 teams with Temple University and is 18 strokes behind team leader Rhode Island.

Rhode Island leads the tournament at one-over-par, shooting a team score of 281, followed by Iowa State and St. Edward's University at four-over-par (284). Fordham, along with Temple, shot opening round team scores of 299 (+19).

Individually, Fordham's Jason Del Rosso is once again near the top of the leaderboard. He shot an opening round of 70, good for even par and a tie for ninth overall. St. Edward's Brad Lyle leads the field at four-under-par (-4) after an opening round of 66.

Besides Del Rosso, Devon O'Rourke was the next best finisher for Fordham with a 75 (+5), which is tied for 50th. Charles Smith and Brody Nieporte both shot rounds of 77 (+7), which is tied for 57th, while David Newman rounded out the competitors with a 79.

The Rams will wrap up play at the MacDonald Cup on Sunday, October 4th.
