Kingston, R.I. - The Fordham University women's tennis squad ventured up to Rhode Island to face the other Atlantic 10 Rams on Wednesday in a match that was a make-up of a rain-out on October 3rd, falling to Rhode Island, 7-0.

Fordham opened the match by dropping the doubles point, losing two of the three doubles matches. Fordham won at third doubles as Taylor Holt and Jane Carroll defeated Michelle Dussol and Jenna Williams, 8-5, but Rhode Island's Kirsten Leikem and Tristany Leikem took first doubles from Martina Featherston and Bethany Boyle, 8-2, while at second doubles Christen Cadigan and Brooke Hoover upended Fordham's Sarah Tremaine and Jennifer Mullen, 8-1.

In singles play, Boyle fell at first singles to Kirestin Leikem, dropping the first set 6-1 and almost winning the second, falling 7-5 (5). Fordham lost the other five singles matches in straight sets as Featherston fell to Emery at second singles (6-1, 6-1), Tremaine lost at the third position to Tristany Leikem (6-4, 6-4), Holt fell at fourth singles to Cadigan (6-0, 6-3), Mullen was upended at the fifth spot by Amanda Barletta and Carroll dropped sixth singles to Brooke Hoover (6-0, 6-2).

The Rams will next be in action on Saturday and Sunday, October 24th and 25th as they compete in the Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
