Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham junior Christi Griffiths (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) was named Atlantic 10 Volleyball Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 11th. It is Griffiths' first weekly honor this season, and the fourth weekly honor of her career.

Griffiths made her first two career starts at right side hitter, moving over from her middle hitter spot. She averaged 2.78 digs and 1.44 blocks per set to go along with a 3.00 kills average against Dayton and Xavier this past weekend

Griffiths had her best all-around match of the season with 15 kills, a then career-high eight digs and a season-high eight blocks versus Dayton on Friday. She then followed that match with her second career double-double with 12 kills and a career-high 17 digs to go with five blocks versus Xavier on Saturday.

To date, Griffiths is currently second on the team in hitting percentage (.263) and blocks (62), while being third in kills (198).

Griffiths, who is just one kill shy of 1,000 for her career, and the rest of the Fordham volleyball team will next be in action this weekend in Philadelphia with a pair of matches. Fordham plays at Temple on Friday, October 16th at 7:00 PM, while meeting La Salle at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 17th.
