Bronx, N.Y. -
On Sunday, October 18th, the Fordham University cheerleader will be rising early and venturing into Manhattan where they will lend their time and energy to a very worthwhile cause. For on that day, the Rams will be volunteering at the NYC Walk4Hearing, which will start at Riverside Park and raise money for people with hearing loss.
Since 2006, thousands of people nationwide have joined the effort to end the stigma associated with hearing loss and provide support and resources for hearing loss prevention and education programs through the Walk4HearingTM.
The Walk4HearingTM , produced by The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), is the largest series of walks of its kind, held in the spring and fall in major cities throughout the U.S. The organization awards scholarships to children who are deaf and last year they hit close to home, granting a scholarship to a current Fordham University student.
More information on the walk and ways you can help can be found at the Walk4Hearing website at www.walk4hearing.org
