The Fordham University men's basketball squad will open their 2009 Atlantic 10 season tonight when they play host to the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies in the Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and online at www.wfuv.org Live. The game can also be viewed live on the internet by clicking here and live stats are available via GameTracker Live.
The Rams enter the game with a 2-10 record and are coming off a 65-59 loss at Bowling Green State University on Saturday afternoon. St. Bonaventure enters the game with a 9-4 record, and is coming off a 68-58 win at Central Arkansas on Saturday.
Fordham will be led into the game by freshman guard Jio Fontan, who leads the team in scoring with a 13.4 ppg average and in assists with 54. Sophomore guard Mike Moore is second on the team in scoring (11.4 ppg) while senior forward Chris Bethel leads the squad in rebounding (6.9 rpg) and is third in scoring (11.1 ppg).
St. Bonaventure will be led into the game by Jonathan Hall, who is averaging 14.1 ppg and shooting 49.0% (77-157) from the field, while Andrew Nicholson is averaging 12.3 ppg.
Wednesday's game will be the 27th meeting between Fordham and St. Bonaventure on the hardwood. The all-time series is tied at 13 games each but the Rams have taken the past seven meetings.
