While the rest of the Fordham track & field team is already prepping for next week's Collegiate Invitational, senior Matt DiBuono competed at Friday's Millrose Games, becoming the first Fordham competitor at the prestigious meet in 16 years.
In an event that showcased professional and collegiate competitors, DiBuono placed sixth overall in the weight throw event with a mark of 60' 1" (18.31m). Among collegiate competitors, DiBuono was third, behind Manhattan's Seid Mujanovic (18.65m - 61' 2 ¼") and Karl-Erik Ludvigsson (18.34m - 60' 2").
First place in the event went to Thomas Jacob Freeman of Iron Ball AC, who threw an amazing 78' 0", followed by Aaron Isaacs of ConnQuest Club (65' 1 ¼") and Steven Jussaume of Shore AC (61' 11 ¾").
DiBuono was Fordham's first individual competitor at the Millrose Games since Lauren Gubicza in 1993.
DiBuono and the rest of the Fordham track & field team will now gear up for the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday, February 6th at the New York Armory.
