Fordham University freshman guard Alberto Estwick (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Anthony's) was named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week it was announced by the conference office today. Estwick, who shares the award with Chris Johnson of Dayton, is the third Ram rookie to earn the award, joining guards Trey Blue and Jio Fontan.
In two games on the week, Estwick averaged 18.5 ppg, while shooting 12-for-20 from the field, including hitting nine of his 16 three-point attempts. His best game was a game-high 20-point effort, shooting 6-for-10 from behind the arc, in a home game against #15/16 Xavier in the Rose Hill Gym on Sunday. Estwick then netted a team-high 17 points, hitting three three-pointers, at Dayton on Wednesday night.
On the year, Estwick is averaging 6.7 ppg and 2.7 rpg, shooting a team-best 39.3% (24-61) from three-point land.
The Rams will next be in action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Kingston, R.I., to face the University of Rhode Island Rams at 2:00 p.m. in the Ryan Center.
