St. Louis, Mo. - The Fordham women's basketball team takes on St. Louis University tonight in a match-up that will be aired nationally on CBS College Sports. The 8 PM tilt pits the 7-9 Rams against the 6-10 Billikens as both teams search for their first Atlantic 10 victory of the 2008-09 season.
Fordham dropped their first Atlantic 10 game of the season to the University of Massachusetts in a toughly fought first half of played that included six lead changes and eight tied scores. In the end, the Minutewomen used a 10-6 run in the beginning of the second half to propel Massachusetts past Fordham 71-62.
The game was not a total loss as sophomore Alexandria Zamora pulled down a career high nine rebounds, topping her previous high of six against UNCW on 2/16/08 while the mark tops her season high of four, a number she has accomplished twice this season.
Sophomore Tiffany Stokes also hit a new season mark for points per game when she bucketed 11 off the bench by shooting 3-7 from the field and 5-8 from the line.
St. Louis could not turn a 21-point, 11-rebound outing from Atlantic 10 top scorer Theresa Lisch into a win as Dayton topped the Billikens 73-68 in St. Louis' conference opener on Saturday.
NOTES: Should Fordham senior Annie Zopf start in tonight's game, it will mark her 100 game played and 80th start of her career. The Wexford, Pa. native has started every game since the beginning of her sophomore campaign.
