Fordham's Cameron Dean Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University freshman punter Cameron Dean (Gulf Stream, Fla./Saint Andrew's School) was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week it was announced today. It is the second consecutive weekly award from the league for Dean, and the third for a Ram so far in 2008.

In a 31-24 Patriot League loss to Colgate on Saturday, Dean punted six times for 237 yards, an average of 39.5 yards/punt, with a long punt of 47 yards. He placed two of the six punts inside the Colgate 20.

On the year, Dean has punted 16 times for 560 yards (35.0 yards/punt) with seven of his 16 punts landing inside the opponent's 20.

The Rams (2-2, 0-1) will have a week off before returning to action on Saturday, October 11th, as they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to face the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks in a Patriot League contest at 12:30 p.m.
