Ithaca, N.Y. -
The Fordham golf team finished in 14th place at the rain-shortened Cornell Invitational, held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca, N.Y.
What was expected to be a three-round event was shortened to one round after a consistent downpour throughout the day Saturday and all morning Sunday kept scores low, as 10 of the 15 teams in the field shot under 300 as a team.
Delaware won the team competition with a score of 287, followed by Siena (288), Columbia (290), and Dartmouth (296). Fordham finished with a score of 311.
Siena's Dan Abbonadolo won the individual title after a five-under-par round of 67. For Fordham, Nico Mizono was the top Ram finisher with a 75, which was good for a tie for 29th. Nik Andresen and Devon O'Rourke both shot rounds of 77, which tied them for 49th, while Trevor Seufer tied for 70th after carding an 82. Charles Smith (81st - 86) and Zach Murray (82nd - 89) also competed for Fordham.
The Rams will next be in action on Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th, as they compete at the McDonald Cup at The Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn.
