Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University women's tennis squad hosted Manhattan College on Sunday on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts, falling to the Jaspers, 5-2. With the loss, the Rams fall to 0-2 on the year.

Fordham opened the match by dropping the doubles point, losing two of the three doubles matches. Dominique Liguori and Martina Featherston teamed up to win at first doubles over Manhattan's Morgan MacTaggart and Christine Krasinski, 8-0, but Bethany Boyle and Sarah Tremaine fell at second doubles and Jane Carroll and Kathryn Silva fell at third doubles by identical 8-4 scores.

Liguori got the Rams on the board by taking first singles from Lindsey Keeler in straight sets (6-2 and 6-2) while Featherston was victorious at second singles over MacTaggart, also in straight sets (6-1 and 6-3).

The Rams also had a chance to pick up a point at sixth singles as Silva fell in the first set to Manhattan's Christina Ton, 6-1, before coming back to take the second set, 6-4. But Ton won the tie-breaker, 10-5.

The Rams will next be in action when they compete at the Eastern Collegiate Invitational at West Point from September 26th through the 28th.
