Bronx, N.Y. -
For the second straight year, the Fordham softball team is participating in the Walk for Breast Cancer, which will take place on Sunday, October 19th in Central Park.
The Rams have reached their goal of raising $3,000 for the American Cancer Society, but have a new goal of $6,000. They have raised $3,260 to date and are still looking for donations. To donate or join the Fordham softball team's effort, go to Fordham's team page on the American Cancer Society website, by clicking here and following the instructions to either donate or join the team.
In addition to the Walk on October 19th, the Rams have also dedicated their fall home games on Saturday, September 27th, to the Walk for Breast Cancer. The Rams will be handing out filers and taking donations at all of the games that day.
If anyone needs more information on either event, please contact assistant coach Emily Friedman at emfriedman@fordham.edu.
A Message from Fordham Softball
Today, there is more hope than ever for people facing breast cancer. However, there is much work to be done to find promising new treatments, increase awareness about the importance of mammograms, help all women get access to screenings and care, and connect those impacted by the disease with the information, day-to-day help, and emotional support they need to wage their battle against breast cancer.
We believe that hope for a world without breast cancer starts with each of us. That's why the Fordham Softball team is walking in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. Not only is this our opportunity to join the community to fight back against breast cancer, it is a way to inspire hope by raising funds and awareness to help those facing the disease and save more lives.
And you can be a part of it, too.
We have signed up to walk and hope you will join us in our effort by signing up to joining the Fordham softball team or making a donation in support of our participation. Hope starts with us.
The Fordham Softball team would like to thank you in advance for any and all donations made to this cause. We are honored to be a part of this fight against breast cancer. GO RAMS!!
