Philadelphia, Pa. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its women's basketball schedule for the 2008-09 season. All Atlantic 10 schools will play a 14-game regular season schedule, which will lead up to the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship at Halton Arena in Charlotte, N.C. from March 6-9.

Fordham opens conference play on Saturday, January 10th, at home against the University of Massachusetts at 1:00 PM. The Rams will also face NCAA participants, George Washington (Jan. 17th) and Temple (Feb. 4th) in the Rose Hill Gym this season. The match-up against Temple will also be the Third Annual Rams' School Day, where children from Bronx schools will be invited to take in the game. Rams' School Day has broken Fordham's single game attendance record in each of its first two years, and looks to do so again this season.

La Salle (Jan. 24th), St. Bonaventure (Feb. 14th), Saint Joseph's (Feb. 18th), and Richmond (Feb. 24th) will round out the home slate.

The Rams' first road trip will take place on January 13th, as Fordham meets Saint Louis at the just opened Chafietz Arena. Fordham will also visit WNIT participants, Charlotte (Jan. 31st) and Dayton (Feb. 10th), and close out the regular season at NCAA participant Xavier on February 28th. Fordham's other road games will be at Rhode Island (Jan. 20), La Salle (Feb. 7th) and Duquesne (Feb. 21st).

Prior to conference play, the Rams open the season at home on Friday, November 14th, as they host Princeton in the first half of a basketball doubleheader. Fordham then hosts the annual "Battle of the Bronx" with Manhattan College on November 19th, which will also be Faculty and Staff Recognition Day.

Fordham will meet NCAA participant, Bucknell University (Nov. 22nd), and NJIT (Nov. 26th) to finish their opening homestand.

The Rams then head south of the border to Cancun, Mexico, to participate in the Cancun Thanksgiving Classic. It will be Fordham's first games outside the United States and its territories in team history. Fordham will take on UNC-Wilmington on November 28th in the opening game, followed by a match-up with either South Carolina or Ohio University.

The Rams will then have five games in December before the team hosts the Fordham Holiday Classic. Fordham will be at Big East opponent, Georgetown (Dec. 3), at WNIT participant, Iona (Dec. 10), and at UNC-Greensboro (Dec. 13), while playing host to Wofford on Alumni Day (Dec. 6) and Central Connecticut State (Dec. 22).

On Alumni Day, Fordham will honor the 30th anniversary of the 1978-79 Eastern Regional Championship team, as well as the 15th anniversary of 1993-94 Patriot League Championship team, where all members of both teams will be invited back to Rose Hill.

The Rams host the Second Fordham Holiday Classic on December 28-29, where they will welcome Colgate, Norfolk State, and Bryant to the Rose Hill Gym. On December 28th, Fordham will meet Norfolk State at 1:00 PM, while Colgate and Bryant will match-up in the 3:00 PM game. The winners will face off in the championship game on December 29th at 3:00 PM, with the consolation game at 1:00 PM.

Once the new year begins, Fordham has two final non-conference games at Lehigh (Jan. 2) and home against Navy (Jan. 5) before the start of Atlantic 10 play.

Season tickets will go on sale in October. For further information call 718-817-4300 or visit www.fordhamsports.com.
